Myne Whitman's new book: A Love Rekindled

What is this book about?

Efe returns to Nigeria after years in the United States, dreaming of an uncomplicated life. However, her nights become plagued by nightmares of Kevwe Mukoro, her ex-fiancé. Long hours at work and drinking in nightclubs only provide temporary relief, and when she encounters Kevwe's twin brother, she knows it's a matter of time before Kevwe is back in her life.

Sparks fly when they finally meet again, but desire is no match for bitter memories of heartbreak. All these years, Efe believed she was rejected; now Kevwe claims he'd never stopped loving her. Stuck at a crossroads, Kevwe prefers to look to the future, but Efe is not so sure. Can the traumatic events of the past be resolved, and will she give in to rekindled love?

Prayer for the month of April

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" Matthew 7: 7 - 11

*****Whatever you have been waiting on the Lord for, this month, doors shall be opened, dreams will be fulfilled, prayers will be answered, obstacles will be overcome and blessings shall overflow in Jesus name.

****And to the bestest popsy in the world (yelse my daddy is better than yours lol).....happy birthday in advance!!!!!!!

It must be "Oscar de la Renta" and "Vera Wang" by fire by force

That 1960 chick!!! big ups
Alo everybody. as you have already heard, this young lady has been in hot soup in the media for "allegedly" talking that she wore oscar de la renta cloth meanwhile na lie. Also surprisingly, i just found out on stella dimokokus blog spot (you can sheck her blog on the blog list :) that our very own Mercy Johnson was also in a similar quanta.

Mercy allegedly claimed this was a Vera Wang dress
****Why is Nadia's own blown up and Mercy's own was kept under wraps (atleast me no hear am sha until today for stella blog). First of all, Nadia go lie for overseas. Mercy formed her big girl for 9ja soil. Another thing be say Nadia must get plenty haters abeg. This people reach level of calling oscar de la renta people to confirm the cloth so tey oscar wan sue her now. She get money reach to pay settlement? Naira pass cedis now and no be say she dey get plenty jobs for 9ja like before again.

You probably have seen it but one more time......Empress Njamah
Anyway to the main point of the post, do we as Nigerians or Africans in general care about what our celebrities wear in terms of foreign designers? I VOTE NO!!! We just couldn't care less most times. What we are more interested in (as seen from blogs and website) is: (all pics below)
1. whether there was too much boob spillage
2. too short to hide the cellulite (ditto Miss  K...which we all know and love)
3. looks too cheap
4. color rioting
5. trying to be oyibo by force
6. wearing winter coat in hot weather
7. hair color (Empress Njamah and her riri hair is a case in point here...courtesy bella naija)
8. making attempts at remixing lady gagas wardrobe (give it up to my girl......Goldie!!!!)
9. Stomach pouches.....Omosexy (I don't have a six packs either but this one pained me because this was a grammy something and I know she dresses better than that...and the makeup....another post biko
10. Not dressed for the occassion...under dressed not to be confused with simple (Kunle Afolayan..u too dey do dis one) or over dressed

So what am I trying to say (lol) whether you are wearing Chanel or Vera or Alex isn't as important to the 9ja crowd (as regards red carpet evaluation) as getting those top 10 right (oh please feel free to add to the list biko). So please refrain from "allegedly" lying and getting sued....thank you :-) !!!

***Note of warning: In the "I must oppress you" circles, the designer you wear and whether or not it is real or fake is important o
Picture says it all

Belle, bra, blush and where guys hand is......NO!

She usually has a better dress sense in her videos

Elizabeth Taylor passes away at 79

I actually saw this news on CNN on my way back from class. Though I best know her for the perfume line that carries her name (mummsy loves that stuff), most people actually know her for her successful acting career. According to yahoo, she died of congestive heart failure. Praying that the family and friends of Lizzy have the strength to get through this difficult time. May her soul rest in peace!

Mr President beauty pageant

If you voted for President based on handsomeness and swagger, who will you vote for?

***Please note that there will not be a swim suit category!!!

Contestant number 1: Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. From the great state of Bayelsa. Statistics: 34-54-23. He is also known as GEJ and his greatest treasure is his delectable wife Mrs Dame Patience GEJ who is also popular damsel and an award winner in the english department.

Contestant number 2: Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Statistics: 34-23-34. After being pursued around the world by powers that be, he returned to grace this competition. Well learned, well spoken and an ex-police man. His wife may not be as popular as Patience GEJ but he gets kudos for his work with the EFCC.

Ibrahim Shekarau for President?

Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau is the presidential candidate for All Nigeria Peoples' Party (ANPP). He is also present governor of Kano state I believe. I personally didn't think he was a candidate to reckon with. To me the big players were just PDP and ACN. Then maybe Buhari may make some noise as well. However, after the presidential debate, a lot of people seem to be giving him credit as a credible and viable candidate. This stunned me a bit as I expected Ribadu to go home with more popularity points after the debate. For those really following debate (as I myself didn't really watch the debate), can Ibrahim Skekarau really be an upset in this elections?

Ishola Durojaiye is dead!

For those of you (like me o!) that love yoruba films and are constant watchers will know Ishola Durojaiye. 90% of the time someone had to play a babalawo role, he was the one who played it. There are about 3 or 4 other people who almost constantly get these babalawo roles in yoruba movies. He surely will be missed in the industry. Died in a car crash I believe. May his soul rest in peace!

If you voted for your president based on his campaign jingle, who will you vote for?

I originally wanted to do a post on "if the elections where decided on the celebrity status attached to the wives of the the presidential aspirants, who will win?" First of all, that would have been a longer title. Second of all, I do not think that any of the other wives can step to Chief Mrs Dame Patience Jonathan, the honorable first lady. That would have been a landslide victory for her :). Still on a light note, if you voted for your president based on their ADs (which you absolutely shouldn't), who would you vote for? Enjoy the ADs!

CPC - Congress for Progressive Change: Mohammed Buhari & Tunde Bakare

PDP - Peoples' Democratic Part: Goodluck Ebele Jonathan

***erm....PDP why the fune in the last video?

James Ibori's billions and trust fund deal

Courtesy: The Punch
So news making the rounds now is that my ex-governor, James Onanefe Ibori has cut a deal to relinquish some of his stolen loot (Total estimated to be about N45 billion......nna men dat is money o!) to a trust fund that could finance development projects. In exchange, foreign governments will agree not to prosecute him. It is a welcomed idea but something no too pure for the matter. First of all, it seems fishy that foreign Western governments will agree to such a deal. It seems too easy a deal for someone whose accomplices (girlfriend, sister and lawyer) have already been found guilty and sentenced. Secondly, (if at all this deal is really on the table) when they use english too much to describe the initiative, there is always something fishy there. I would have loved details of what specific kinds of projects the fund will finance (small business initiatives, scholarships, rehabilitating prisoners etc), who will be in charge of managing and disbursing the funds etc. Lastly, I am most suspicious of this because of the Amnesty program campaigned for by Yar Adua. We heard of the program but after the militants started accepting the amnesty deal, we haven't heard much from that end. How exactly are they being rehabilitated? Even if the number of attacks have reduced, are they still mobilizing? Is the government taking care of the issues that made these men and women pick up arms in the first place? This kind of trust fund something can go the way of the Amnesty program IMO.

Oh My God Agnes

Thank you letter to Liverpool FC

Dear Liverpool FC,

It is with great joy I pen down these words of appreciation for beating Man U 3 - 1. I am not a fan of your very prestigious club but your win means that Arsenal is behind Man U with just 3 points and a game in hand. Especially after our frustrating goal-less draw with Sunderland yesterday (coming after our shocking defeat at the Carling cup finals) your perfemance today has kept out title hopes alive and we say thank you. Specifically to Kuyt! Chelsea also deserve my thanks as well for humbling the red devils when they met. If you do see Ancellotti, please extend my love and greetings.

Regards,

Olori aka Erelu aka Yeyeoge 1 of this palace

Our relationship started on a wrong foot and we almost got divorced. However, almost 4 years now and we are still together. Now I have been hearing the Iphone is better than the BB and i ask in what way o cos what is attracting me to BB is the bbm o. I also hear there is something called whatsapp that is like the bbm. Confusion I am so please o feel free to informate me about the situation by making your case for the team you belong too (or the team you don't yet belong to but support)........for now its team Nokia o!

BB rules of engagement by Banky W

I don't even have a BB but found it an interesting read......I personally think the rules can be applied to facebook and yahoo messenger.....ENJOY!

PING!!!

It's safe to say that almost everyone reading this is familiar with what that word above means... and if you aren’t… welcome to Earth! The Blackberry is one of the most common and most used communication devices today among young people. I love Apple as much as anyone, but let's not even get into the #teamiPhone versus #teamBlackberry debate. Until you can BBM with an iPhone, we're not hearing it (and please don’t bring up the whole whatsapp thing).
This post is mainly directed at BB users across the globe. I think the time has come for us to establish a simple set of rules for people who choose to use this device (I'm sure some of these rules will not work only for BB's. Feel free to use where applicable for any other smartphones).

Kim Kardashian is into music now?

This Kardashian family members definitely have ibo blood in them cos the way they are delving into things (perfume, DASH, spin off reality shows and now music) and smiling to the bank is a wonder to behold. Here is the link to the song - Turn it up! sha

***The musical production doesn't sound too bad but as Kandi from real housewives of Atlanta has shown, you don't really need to have Whitney Houston's voice to hammer in music. That being said, I don't know if this particular business venture will be profitable for Kim K.

Prayer for the month of March

1 Chronicles 4:10:
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. And God will grant your request too in Jesus Name!

Happy New Month = Mummy and Brother's birthdays

In the heat of my rant and the fact that my day started at 3.30pm today, I didn't realize that today was the first day of March. In honor of Mumsy's birthday on the 16th and Brother's birthday on the 11th, happy birthday to those born in the month of March and to the rest, have a fantastic month ahead!

ITK "I Too Know" people + driving permit so far...

Pet Peeve/Vent time: Ok so I'm taking this class where we read a book each week and then talk about it. Now the characters in this class can be so annoying. Read the book and comment and go and sit down. NO O! not this people. They will take something small and make the biggest philosophical argument about it. I'm like sisi life is not that hard now. This particular sisi is an older woman in this class of mainly 20 somethings. Now I am all for going back to school and all but anytime she raises her hand to speak she thinks she is talking to her children. And if she made her point like she is just giving her opinion, i won't even be vexed but she is always talking like no o, she is transferring the universal truth to us and we must obey. And oh there is this one guy that his own is just to throw the conversation away from the book. Sometimes I have a feeling this boy doesn't read the book but just to get participation points in (a whole 75% of my grade o) he will now say something different so we can move away from the book and he will sound smart without even reading the book (even though I think he is smart small sha). So me that read the book i don't have work abi? Nonsense and ingredients!!!!

***So on Sunday when I talked about trying to study for my driving license exam, I actually didn't study dat day. Una know as e be na. I plan am for mind say I go study but my brain lose network coverage that night so I chop go crash. Anyway sha, this morning I finally got to the studying and as I was reading I was like I have never seen all these yeye signs on the road. But as I was on the bus, I was shocked at the amount of these signs there actually were on the roads. I come dey think say where my mind bin dey all dis time wey I don dey waka around dis area.
